can i replace my Potterton EP2 2 way programmer with a Center EHE0200361 RF?

my boiler is a Vaillant ecotec 618 and is NOT a combi, I wish to replace the Potterton EP2 2 way programmer with a Center EHE0200361 RF programmable timer , is this new timer compatable with my boiler???

The Center EHE0200361 RF programmable timer works with a receiver that has one single set of contacts and will control the heating only. It will not control the hot water. To control the hot water you would need to use a separate timer. The simplest solution would be to keep your existing timer with heating permanently "on" and add the Centre unit to switch the heating on and off according to schedule and temperature.

Alternatively, you could look at a Drayton MiGenie Wish 2. This should provide all the functionality you need: Remote setting of program, system auto/off/on via a wireless thermostat plus via a smartphone for all that as well as program schedule. It should just slot onto the existing backplate
