My 20 year old ilve oven is working but all of a sudden the alarm keeps going off really loudly, sometimes every few hours and sometimes every few minutes. It has only 3 buttons: a clock, plus and minus. Please help! I've had to resort to turning it off at the power box at night so we're not woken up.

I have contacted Ilve who want to send a repair technician at great expense. I think it's a VAC 240. Any other ideas?

For some reason you seem to think we don't need to know the model.

That said it sounds as if your timer might be on the way out. Depending on the model (which you didn't mention) you may be able to get a replacement.

You could search for ilve spares and find the likely trade suppliers.

You could try EBay once you have a model number
