WHY DON;T MY HOMELITE CHAINSAW ACCELLERATE?

I have a Homelite chainsaw 23 PowerStroke 2.3 cubic in. displacement 38cc and it idles fine but when I give it gas, it just stays at the same operating speed as idle. All the throttle links are hooked up and when I take the air cleaner off, I can see the butterfly opening just fine. Is it the spark plug gap, wrong fuel mixture or what? I just bought it used and I can;t seem to get it going. Can you please make a diagnosis. And where can I get a manual for this saw Thank you. Ron Hickman (619)669-0102 or shirlaylee2001@hotmail.com

try some fresh gas or a new plug try that maybe.. look to see if the air and fuel mixture screw is adjusted right.keep the saw running get a flat head screw driver and turn the screws in and listen should have a sweet spot when those are adjusted right..

homelite chainsaws have a spark arrester in the muffler that gets stop up with carbine! if this happens the engine wont revive up! clean the muffler and exhaust ports!and see if this is it!
