when i go to turn off computer it has stand by, restart and turn off but the stand by option u cant click on. and when i run a virus scan it wants to restart in safe mode or stand by but it wont. How do i get my stand by to get back and running or where im able to click on it?

I suggest that you repost tis in: Software, Operating Systems. People who answer questions on modems (which is where is is at the moment) can't usually help with OS questions much. BTW. It helps no end to know what your computer is and what OS it has.
