Is there a reset switch on a maytag legacy vacuum?

Vacuum stopped working because cannister was full, won't turn on again even though vacuum has been fully claned. Is there a reset switch? Model #U5185-900

Yes, there is a reset switch in the rug beater head. Unscrew the two screws holding the cover in place --AFTER YOU HAVE UNPLUGGED THE VACUUM< of course. There is a switch with a large red piece of tape on it. Unclog any problems that keep the brush from rolling, move the switch to the opposite position from where it is now. Try it. Mine worked just fine.

No. There is no reset switch on your vacuum. It doesn't work like a computer, which might have some sort of a software problem that will cause it to hang and require you to manually restart it. A vacuum usually connects through an electric lever once you push the button. The only way to 'reset' a vacuum would be to unplug it from the wall, plug it in, and press the on button/swith. It sounds like your vacuum is probably broken.
