no power to starter?

this is a 15.5 horse craftsman lawn tractor with a b/s motor, I have power to the starter silonoid from the battery but nothing coming out of the silonoid to the starer even when I turn the key, I have checked it with a tester

Put your tester on the small hot wire at the solenoid to see if your getting power there when you turn the key to the start position. If not it is most likely a safety switch. (Remember you need to have pressure on the seat saftey switch, the clutch pushed the whole way in, and the PTO disengaged to test it.) If there is power there, it's probably the solenoid.

Try jumping the solenoid to make sure its good

You probably have a safety switch out, could be under the seat or at the clutch-brake pedal. There is also a safety switch down under the dash,it works the blades, puts them in gear, either one of these safety switchs can be bad and it will not turn the starter over.
