Our Hotpoint WD 420 washer dryer has water flood out of the soap draw?

When the machine gets to the start of the spin and rinse part of the cycle large quantities of water comes out around the soap dispenser draw and runs onto the floor. it takes 3 to 4 towels to mop up the spill. The machine seems to run fine up to this point and no water comes out of the machine other than the normal discharge from the drain.

The water level in the machine does not seem high at any point during it’s operation it just coming approx an inch up the door.

On two occasions engineers came out to look at the machine but they did not even take the top off but just plugged a laptop into it and said that it was fine. It still carried on leaking the next time it was used.

I've got the same problem. Where is the sump?

Stuart, June 2008
The water is not draining away quick enough, thus spinning while still full of water, I would say the sump under the tank is blocked................

hi in the powder tray is the conditioner tray there is usually a plastic part that the water runs up into so it can pass to the machine this plastic part gets blocked, pull it out and give it a good clean,if ther are two small plastic pipes make sure water goes up one side and down the other
