Unfortunately we have one of these DeLonghi range cookers too.
Won't be buying DeLonghi again.
May the credit crunch - well, err.
It's about 5 years old and was bought new.
About 2 - 3 years after buying it the described problem with the oven arose.
I removed the function switch as it had obviously been overloaded shown by the melted plastic lobes on the function switch rear operating cam(s).
I did an internet search on the part number which for your reference is 3095/4.
Bought a new switch, about £32 IIRC - just the switch - can't remember where from.
I have the old one in front of me now as I have been doing another internet search these last few days following the failure of the the new switch fitted about 2 years ago.
Same problem - overheated again.
Obviously a design problem somewhere as I see on here there have been many failures.
My latest internet search reveals only 1 supplier for the switch and loom at Currys Partmasters, see www.partmaster.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=824982&brand=Delonghi&model=dfs901ss&part= at £66.99.
We bought the cooker from Currys.
Good to see they are looking after their customers when there is a DESIGN FAULT.
May the credit crunch - well, err.
Just out of interest take a look at how much other, even small, parts cost from Currys Partmaster for this cooker.
We have one of these www.partmaster.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=178143&query=Delonghi%20dfs901ss%20&model=dfs901ss with a broken leg - a bargain at £11.99.
Hope you don't need any small self tappers for your cooker at £2.99 each www.partmaster.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=288573&query=Delonghi%20dfs901ss%20&model=dfs901ss.
If anyone has found a, non rip off, source for the switch and loom please post on here and email me at m8srus@tiscali.co.uk .
I will be replacing the loom and switch this time but £66.99 is taking the piss.
Did I hear someone say 'over a barrel'.
Not happy, January 2009
