Zanussi FJ 1296 Washing Machine?

drum does not turn in the wash or spin cycle. The water does enter the drum and is pumped out at the end but the drum does not turn. I suspected it might be the belt, but this is fine. Do I need a new motor?

Or possibly no. It may just need new carbon brushes in the motor. You really need to test it and fault find properly using a multi meter. Just making hit and miss guesses ls not the way to go. If you don't have a multi meter or know how to fault find then call a service company.
