Morphy Richards, steam generator Model No 332006, tripping earth switch?

Appears to be an intermittent fault, as the earth-trip kicks in, not always immediately! Any suggestions, please? Are the the electrics on a steam generator simple to work with? Any suggestions on how to effect a repair, please?
