If I knew the model number and whether the light was simply flashing or if it was flashing in any kind of pattern, I could do a bit of a search and find out if the machine was trying to tell you something.
Actually you could do that yourself.
I wonder if you'll discover the flood alarm on the base of the machine has been triggered.
