I want to know how to take the on/off switch cover of the stainless steel no drip Dualit kettle. I have undone the base screws and its separated but the silver plastic on/off switch stops the base from being open filly. It looks as it is a push on silver cover that has been put on the on/off switch and once I get it off I should be able to full test why the kettle has stopped working i.e. it does not turn on

The switch cover pulls off, I used a flat blade screwdriver to give a bit of leverage underneath.
