I chose the mode, shut the door and pressed “Start”. I heard the door locked but the “key icon” didn't show and the machine didn’t work. Tried few times to shut down the washing machine and let it rest for a while, which is still not helping.

I wonder if the door lock mechanism has a "door closed and locked" switch that signals the machine to carry on safely.
