How can I recover photos from my MultiMedia Card?

I need a (free) utility to recover photos from my MultiMedia Card which my camera has managed to wipe. While I was browsing through my photos on my camera it suddenly came up with an error message and stated that it had blanked the card.

If someone could point me in the direction of a recovery tool I would be much obliged.

I doubt, if it has been wiped, that it is recoverable. When a hard drive is 'wiped' or 'deleted',the info is still there, but the 'tags' that tell the system where to find it are removed. That is why it is relatively simple to recover info from drives. Memory cards are different. If it is, and they usually are, ram, then the info, once gone is gone forever. You could, if you haven't alredy try 'googling'. It can take a lot of searching through unrlated sites, but if the photo's are worth it, give it a go.
