We have a Hotpoint ultima 1000 WM71 washing machine and it has just come up with a E30 error. The documentation that came with the machine states a motor drive problem has occured. We have cleaned the filters to no avail. Can you please give me a better clue with regard to the error, ie could it be a stretched belt,

You will find it is to do with a dry solder joint on the main power board. There is a relay that controls the power to the motor that has a history of needing the pins re-soldering.

You will need to unpin the board to see behind where the white wires from the motor connect to this board, you will find the relay near to the edge.
