water loss on a vectra?

my 16v vectra is losing loads of water i can not see a leak any where .i have checked my oil and that is fine any ideas please.

Yes, if you are losing a lot of water and can find no leaks then I am pretty sure its the head gasket. As I say, a compression check of your cylinders should confirm it. Maybe ask a garage to do this check for you, I can't imagine that it should cost much. Replacing the head gasket on the other hand might be !

yes there seems to bealot of smoke or vapour coming from the exhaust is this due to the head casket.

Could be that your head gasket has gone and water is leaking into the combustion chamber. Not sure how to confirm this other than to do a compression check. Does your exhaust output look normal i.e. no smoke or water vapour?
