I have a large amount of water in o/s front passengers footwell?

I have a large amount of water in the o/s passengers footwell, can anyone shed a bit of light on it for me. the car is an o2 vauxhall vectra 1800cc.

I had the same with my VX omega. What I found was the cover to the pollen filter, which is on the passenger side just below window screen, was not sealing the water out. As the water came down the windowscreen it went straight down the pollen filter into the floor well of the passenger side. I fixed it by sealing the cover to the pollen filter with some of the sealant that you can use to seal around baths. Make sure that the area is dry before trying to seal it though. As a little extra you could try putting a layer of clear plastic over the area diverting the water away from the pollen filter. I know from friends that the Ford Focus has similar problems and the suggested repair has worked for them. Good luck.
