Hotpoint Aquarius 1000?

I pretty certain my motor brushes are worn right down as my washer stopped mid cycle. Load was to heavy in hindsight. How do the white brush housings come out? I thought they might be a push fit but cant remove them.

hi they are push in but to one side theres a plastic lug just push in with a screw driver and out they come
