you cannot adjust the ignition timing its set in the cdi unit, but there are a list of things that can stop it running mate,ie..broken reed petals in the reed block blocked exhaust pipe, old stale fuel, fouled spark plug, leaking head gasket can wet a plug and stop it sparking, dodgy side stand switch dodgy ingnition switch, dodgy kill buton, leaking crankseals.and so on its hard to pinpoint the problem unless you individually eliminate these things,i know i have had a problem with this model before where the spark would breal down due to a faulty primary ignition coil or stator coil so that may be worth a look but its hard to see if its ok you just need to get a replacement really.good luck

Try a new plug, I had that problem a few times with moto-x bikes. It sparks ok out of the cylinder but when replaced it won't start, just the occasional back fire.
