How can I fix my Proform Front Runner?

My ProForm Front Runner will not turn on. I have power to the console and power under the hood. But nothing happens when I push the start button. The speed will not increase beyond 0 and machine will not incline at all. Obviously, the belt does not turn at all. I think it is the start switch. The treadmill has about 6 hours of use on it - almost new.

(I had the same problem-only one of my programs would work, and the rest of the buttons (even start) would not work. I used some scissors and carefully cut about a 1/2 inch in the plastic inbetween each of the copper strips in the ribbon cable. Then I seated each one individually (put them back in the white plastic thing) until I found the one that was freezing all of the other buttons up. Now all of my buttons EXCEPT for the one that was working before work. I can live without 1 program if it saves me $300) - This answer solved my exact same problem. Thanks so much!!!

Had the same problem with my proform treadmill. Tried blocking each ribbon cable contact at a time with a small piece of plastic placed between the contacts. Got it to work with two cable contacts blocked. Ended replacing console keypads for $100. Ordered them from Treadmill Doctor. My treadmill works like new. Thanks for the help guys!!

I am having the same problem but I am not that mechanically inclined. How do I go about re seating ribbon cables? I can't afford to have the console replaced at this time and there is no one in my area that services them.

I have the same problem and I traced it to the ribbon cables used in the console. These ribbon cables are used to complete the connection for all the contols on the conslole. I have reseated these cables several times and the treadmill will work fine for a short time. I am still looking for a long term solution. This is a very bad design. a replacement console is over $300.00 from Proform.
