This dishwasher is about 3 years old now, and hasn't been used for the last year - when I used it last, it kept overheating, the program seemed prolonged and it was red hot, as if it would not move on to the next part of the program - is it the dial? I have checked the thermostat - all ok - any help would be gratefully received

it is over heating and not moving along the program ie dial not moving becouse the thermostat isnt working or the point where the thermostat wires connect to the controller is coroded / has a bad connection of some sort
