I have a Hoover CA232 washer. Can you diagnose the fault?

My timer has developed a mind of its own! i set it to number 4 on a 40 degree wash, which takes just over an hour, and when I return hours later it is still washing and the temp. is far too hot. Is it my timer thats gone up the shute?

Wendy, it sounds as if you are more swithed on than your mc. by far!! yes it sounds like the timer is jumping onto the following wash after doin the previous one instead off stoppin.

ninety percent of these washin mc probs are the timer switch cause it is constantly makin/breakin elec current and burnin them out tally ho
