my 1995 laguna 2.2d 's battery goes flat if cars not used for 2/3 days battery is new and alternator is chargeing ok,any ideas......

frist check.if battery is topped up water?..if not top up but not tap water!.second.check that all interior lights are off this includes the boot curtesy light also make sure your radio turns off infact make sure you turn everything off these items will drain a battery over a few days the water level will stop the battery from holding a charge for any lengh of time.if none of this works try cleaning all battery terminals and all electrical terminals on alternator an starter as these also can cause battery drain.

Maybe just maybe the battery is naff as one cell gone which would discharge the batter.easy trial.Take the leads off the battery and leave for a day or two and reconnect.Then see

the only explanation i can come up with is your batery is shorting out some where. you will have to look around under the bonnet to see if there is any metal touching the positive terminal on the battery. eg/ slamming down the bonnet so it's just enough for it to touch the battery. This means the battery has drained into the hole car body.
it could be just a faulty battery!
