Hoover agitator dirty inside. How to clean?

We have a Hoover premier 705 top loading machine.
After a wash is done, minute black specks of greasy dirt sometimes appear on the clothes.
I have removed the agitator and cleaned as well as I can plus cleaned the filter. It is ok for about 4 weeks then gets worse again.
Is it possible to run something throgh the machine to dissolve ALL of the accumulated dirt/grease, which I supect comes from the washing powder? Does Epsom Salts work??Have tried different liquids/powders, still same.
Many Thanks

Brian ... we have the same problem with a Hitatchi top loader,
I've pulled the top off and there is a very heavy layer of black gunk caked on the inside of the outer bowl. There is a gradual build-up down from the top till it is about 8mm thick in th middle then it thins out again, scraping is the only fix!! The machine is about 6yrs old and we have been told fabric softener is the cause. Before this we tried epsom salts with no luck.I too thought this was a leaking seal till I pulled the top off!!

it sounds like the seal is duff allowing the oil to enter the tub
