This cannot be done without breaking the whiteish looking mould underneath the rubber knob housing, the housing is only tack glued so can be removed without cutting as i have just done on mine but to remove the plastic underneath to expose the shaft you have to hacksaw (best way) along the top and chip open with a flat head screwdriver.
