swapping thermostats on Creda T622CW dryer?

found your site to be very helpful!! saved a bit of money changing thermostats ourselves as this is the 2nd time.
is this a weakness as well as a safety feature. or a cheap way out for creda not to use a reset switch
we found only the green spot one had blown but replaced both
I take it you must replace the green spot thermostat with another green spot and vice versa - no swapping around?

Pat,

That is correct. Thermostats go for a number of reasons.

1. The condenser unit should be kept clean and free off fluff (condenser only)

2. Likewise the filter should also be cleaned after every dry.

3. The water container should be emptied every time (condenser only)

4. Most importantly the door should not be opened during the drying cycle. This is the single most reason that they blow. The cooing fan stops, but the heater is still hot. There is a 5/10 minute cool down period at the end of the cycle (propeller icon) which turns of the heater in order for the fan to cool it down.
