gas oven will not fully ignite?

Hi there

Hi folks

The oven in my Creda gas cooker no longer lights fully.

Normally you turn the oven knob and press the ignition and a small flame will burn for about 30 seconds before the main flame kicks in. Now the small flame ignites but the main flame no longer kicks in. Turning the knob up or down makes no difference.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Steve

I've just fitted a new flame failure device to my LPG Rangemaster 110. It was reasonably straightforward.
For the part try www.gas-spares.co.uk - they are very good and if the part is in stock & you call before 4pm they'll despatch it that day. Definitely recommended.

Sounds like flame failure sensor has packed up - when you turn on, this has to heat up and then it will open a valve to let the gas flow fully - the idea being that if tha gas went out, this sensor would cool down and turn off the gas. Shouldn't be expensive or difficult to fix - if you're handy you could probably do it yourself.
