Fiat bravo 1.2 sx 2000 w reg Gears box?

Hi,
I have recently had my timing belt done and previous to that my gears where stiff and rarley cruntched in 2nd. After i had the work done my reverse gear contantley crunches every time and 2nd is proving difficult. The first gear too sometimes needs many attempts to go into gear.
Is this due to the timing belt. If not what is this and how much will this cost??

the same thing has just happend to me i was told it was my clutch i got a new one then found out that my gear box had gone to.This was caused because my clutch had worn down so much it broke and wore away inside the gear box.

fiat bravos have a commen fault with the syncromesh in the gearbox that causes them to crunch second gear this in itself is nothing to worry about however if it crunches reverse aswel i would say your clutch needs replacing.if u need any more advice feel free to e mail me darrylplover@hotmail.co.uk

sounds like you have a clutch problem, could be the clutch itself or a faulty clutch master or slave cylinder losing pressure. try pumping the pedal a few times before putting it gear, if that helps its the latter
