Hotpoint WM62P programme sticking on rinse + gurgling noise?

Hard water area. Long story short. Yesterday, rare white wash at 95C. Tripped kitchen circuit breaker. Reset and restarted machine so I could asses problem. Noted sound like a pump spinning in half air, half water. Took pump assembly and hoses apart and cleaned. No obstructions found, action smooth nothing visually wrong.

Re-assembled. Gurgling pump noise still present but better. The real problem is that the machine has taken to stopping at points during the rinse cycle, no pumping, nothing. You have to nudge the control knob forward manually for it to continue.

The pump seems to work fine, the wash is OK, so I'm now very confused. Any help greatly appreciated!

Andy,
Did you have any success with your WM62? I have similar prob, cycle starts ok, the drum fills and drains ok etc, but no drum rotation. Again the PCB seems to be the problem, the mech timer clicks through the motions but only rarely spins the drum.
I don't want to go to the possible expense of a replacement PCB if this isn't actually the problem.

Update #2; problem solved.

One of the motor brushes had jammed, so it wasn't advancing properly. I'm guessing heating up / cooling down, vibrations etc led to the initially intermittent nature of this fault.

Gurgling I think is a red herring, I probably only noticed it because I was listening for something wrong.

Update: It's now proper U/S. The main motor has suddenly stopped spinning at all. I replaced the bushes some time ago, so I doubt it's them.

I'm suspecting that the control board has gone South for some reason. Ouch.

Once again, any help or advice greatly appreciated!
