the dryer makes all the right sounds when switched on but the drum does not turn, what can i do

It sounds like you need a new belt. I just replaced mine. Your appliance store should carry them, the instruction are on the bag the belt comes in. Helpful hint thought there are two screws up top when you open the dryer door, they must come out to lift the top up on the dryer. You may need a hand. Good luck
