Basically the actual GHDS have taken a bit of a bashing and the two sets of plates have cracked, now they are only connected by the wires, the actual plastic/casing clamp system in broken so they dont open and clamp shut,im scared that eventually the wires will break because they are taking the weight of the plates does anyone have any clue if its possible to fix them? i dont just want to wrap sellotape around the handle, the good thing is they are still heating up but its virtually impossible to use them.

any advice would be much appreciated
