how can i fix safe mode on my computer?

My computer will only start on safe mode. How do I fix it?

type " chkdsk/f " without the ". it may help

Hi. If you have XP - then go to start / run / and type in MSCONFIG this will bring up a screen called - System Configuration Utillity - click the normal set up.
You will be asked to restart the pc - do this, and it will start up in normal mode.

DJ is correct. When your computer starts up in safe mode then it is booting up with loading certain operating files; this is meant to be a troubleshooting tool. Apparently you have 1 or more files corrupted and may have to reinstall your version of Windows (in some drastic cases).

What operating system are you using?

When your computer boots up in safe mode put the Operating system cd in and run it, this will then give you various options to install/upgrade/repair etc and if you choose repair it will replace the missing files and everything should be fine.
