baxi solo boiler?

my boiler is not firing up,the pilot light is lit but when i turn on the switch for either hot water or central heating nothing is happening.i have checked that the pump is working and it is.
any ideas as i have 2 small children and its gonna get chilly in hear tonight. manythanks mick (newport)

I had this problem the gasman who came out reset the boiler and it worked (might take a few attempts though).

ive just had the same problem ,an when the engineer checked it out it was the gas valve that was @ fault
