why is my ford cougar making a knocking sound at the rear when i?

travel over an uneaven surface or bumpy road,it sounds like i have something jumping about in the boot but the boot is empty.Any suggestions welcome on what is wrong and how to repair it without taking it into a garage and paying the extortionate prices.

not the bracket the rubber mounting that attaches the exhaust to the bracket,if one of them has snapped it'll knock its t*ts off.

have a look if the exhaust is secure at the rear.u may have a exhaust mountain broken unless the exhaust has snapped.
