Hey, your useing an old drive. Well your in luck. To find the jumper setting take the drive out of your computer. look on the top of the drive, their you will find letters engraved by all the pinsthe third set look like this {C S M} To set it to master find the 6 pins
{S L A}
(3 on top 3 on the bottom) put the jumper on MA (M:Top pin A:Bottom pin) same for slave. if you havwe any more Q my email is usufmail@gmail.com or you can email me through my website http://www.ufuf.kk5.org.

Mine has the jumper settings etched into the housing and in my case Gerald's is correct

you sure i thought it was pins 1-4 mastr 2-5 slave 3-6 other? thats how mine are set anyway lol

You should have 6 pins ... from left to right the top 3 are designated pins 1, 2, 3 ... the bottom 3 or designated 4, 5, 6...
To set it up as a Master place the jumper on pins 3 and 6... for a Slave put the jumper on pins 2 and 5 ... Cable Select is pins 1 and 2.
