Smelly M/C?

I have an LG front loading washing M/C its about 3 years old and the problem I have is when its doing a wash there is an awful smell coming from it like sewer water, I clean the filter out regularly has anyone got any solutions, I tried running it through a wash with Soda but that did`nt work.

Hi pe2e
thanks for your advise I tied the pump up as it is plumbed into the sink drain, but it did`nt make a lot of difference so I got the filter out and soaked it in white vinigar and used a spray bottle with the vinigar in and sprayed all inside the filter then scrubbed it with a toothbrush (it was thick with scum) then I put white vinigar inside the little rubber drain hose, the smell has gone and the water is coming out the drain hose faster so it seems the filter was the problem.

It sounds like it might be plumbed in to the sink waste pipe and all your smelly water from the sink is backfilling into your washer, if you can fasten the pipe upto the underneath of your worktop this will solve this. if you dont have it plumbed into your sink waste then you outlet pipe could be partially blocked
