The door of my Zanussi FX 1465 W won't lock (the light does not come on) and so the washing sycle won't start. Is there a fuse somewhere I can get at and fix? Just back from charity event in Africa and desparately need to wash stuff!!!

I had same problem with my Zanussi FJ 1295, I cleaned out filter and door lock light came on - fully working again now. As cheapest and easiest solution try this first before other answers

I had exactly the same problem. I replaced the door locking mechanism (around £30) but that didn't fix it. It turned out the circuit board had blown near one of the connectors (they're all at the top front of the machine under a cover, if you take the top off-look for scorch marks!). New boards are up to £160, so we repaired it ourselves with a bit of soldering...and it actually worked! Result.
