bRAKE lIGHTS oUT?

I've changed the bulbs in my 1995 Fiat Punto after moving house. Still not working. Have I knocked out wiring somehow?
What do I do next?

find the switch under the brake pedal and disconnect it get wire and connect the two wires together with ignition on if the brake lights work switch fault if not suspect wiring faulty
