How can I fix my Hotpoint TDC62 ondenser Tumble Dryer?
My tumble dryer operates properly but no heat is generated. How do I find out if it is the heating element or one of the stats and how can I locate them, please?

Hi, I have had to have my thermostat replaced twice, each time costing me £50.
I have decided to try to fit the thermostats myself from reading advice on the net.
I have just bought 2 thermostats £17.99p for the two from my local appliance shop.
The lady told me that the only reason thermostats go is because of not waiting for the cooling down period when the drying has finished.
She said on all Hotpoint you are supposed to wait 10 minutes when the drying is finished for the cycle to cool down. I must admit I just usually open the door when my drying is finished and do not wait 10 minutes.
I am now going to try waiting 10 minutes and hopefully my thermostats will not need replacing so quickly.
Hope this helps someone.

I have replaced my stats many times on my TDC62, fortunately an easy job. Unfortunately this week I replaced the stats again (only a few months after the last time) and they have gone again within 2 days.
Any clues?

make sure your filter is cleaned out at the bottom of the dryer

Thanks to Simon for your Instructions from over a year ago now. I have just replaced both thermostats (also purchased from spares2go) - now £16 inc p+p. clothes drying as I type. The whole thing was a worry for a while until I found this post. Ordered the thermos that day and they came the next day. Give this a go even if you're not a diy-er. !UNPLUG! Unscrew the three pieces and a screw on each of the thermostats, remove the spade connectors. One of the thermostats has a green spot. Replace that with the new one with a green spot and then do the other. Bobs your unc. (5 mins max)
Thanks again.

The thermostats can be accessed via the rear of the machine. Remove the hub cover, securing bar and then the large heating element cowl. You will find the two stats on an angled plate directly above the heating element. Change both stats at the same time. I bought my kit online from www.spares2go.co.uk
