I have an Electrolux Epic Series 6500 SR?

I have an electrolux epic series 6500 SR and when I connect the powerhead, whether its the big one or the smaller one, it won't work. For the big, I have sort of moved back and forth and sometimes it turns on and sometimes it does not. Help anyone

I too have this exact same problem and I have checked with a voltage meter, actually my brother did and he is an electrician. Starting from the nozzle prongs down to the brass connectors and our findings were that there was no power even at that point. He said it has to be inside at the main switch. Now that we traced the power source failure I can't figure out how to get to it. I have gotten as far as removing the two runners on each side, now I am stuck there. This is all I have to offer .

It seems like there is a problem with the hose...
Take the hose out of the vacuum and check the little brass connectors on either side of the plastic hose housing, make sure they are not missing.
If they are ok, then re insert the hose into the vacuum, sometimes the hose is not seated right and taking it out and putting it back will fix the issue.

If it still does not work, connect the little power nozzle, and swivel the hose handle with the vacuum on, does the little power nozzle go on off, if so then the handle connections are dirty.

If swiveling the handle does not work, then there is most likely a broken wire in the hose, and you will have to get a new hose.
