Adjust Handbrake for an Astra?

Hi
Can someone please tell me how to adjust my handbrake for an N reg Astra 1.8 sport
Im having to pull the handbrake up as far as it will go in order to get any sort of bite.

Thanks for any help

You should be able to lift up the plastic gaiter that is on the handbrakebrake, you will then see the handbrake cable going through the handbrake with a nut on the end of it, take the handbrake off and tighten the nut, if the handbrake is going up too far I would suggest that you check the brake drums for excessive wear.

sounds like its worth taking it back to whoever fitted the shoes and asking them to finish the job.

I had some rear shoes put on last week when it went in for an MOT

you need to check your rear brake shoes first to see how much wear you got on them.
