why does my citroen dispatch go mad when i try to start it?

When I turn the igntion on, all the dash board warning lights start flashing/flickering, and the sound of a relay clicking can be heard. When the key is removed, the heater motor stays running. The vehicle does not start let alone turn over, although the battery is charged. It is a CITROEN DISPATCH 1.9 DIESEL.

got a dispatch and had similar problems with glow light / instruments going mad and not starting.

turned out to be iffy wiring loom plug in connector on ecu and a possible broken wire in the loom.

got a citroen auto electrician to sort it - took him 2 hrs na d £120
now starts first time every time.
poss call up local citroen breakers and ask if they know of citroen auto electrician, thats what i done.

good luck

Hi,
Sounds like it could be your electrical connections to your starter/alternator. Two minutes with a spanner nipping them up and you should be able to start it ok.
Cheers
