My bobbin winder won't work and I wanted to get the shell off to see if I can fix it. It stopped working after falling over in my car. I can hear something loose inside the machine. This is a mechanical machine that has 2 large knobs on the right. I have unscrewed all visible screws and I am wondering if I have to take the knobs off in order to get the plastic shell off.

Hello Donna,
you may have to unscrew the base of the machine an then undo a couple of screws that is holding the back and front plastic casing, you may only need to take the knobs off if they are on the outside of the casing, if they are sitting inside the case slightly you should not need to take them off.
