Changing battery on Galaxy 8 alarm?

I have a Galaxy 8 alarm system, the green led is flashing quickly, this indicates a blown fuse or didgy battery. Do I need
an engineers code when replacing the battery? Didn't want to
disconnect it and then have it going off. Thanks

Thanks for the reply.....the led flashing used to be intermittant....
some days it was ok and I was able to set the alarm and then
on others it used to flash and I couldn't set the alarm.
Until now it's flashing all the time.

Question really is Can I fix the problem without calling an engineer out.

We haven't had a power cut, but I remember switching the Mains OFF while I was fiddling with the cooker ignition for about 1/2 hr.

Yes you do or the tamper alarm will be activated and the whole alarm will be set off. Did you have a power interruption as sometimes this can blow the fuse?
