Vauxhall Cavalier 1.7 TD - Brake light and handbrake light stays on?

Vauxhall Cavalier 1.7 TD - Brake light and handbrake light stays on when start car and car won't charge battery. If I remove the charging relay, then the lights don't stay on. Put charging relay back in and lights come back on.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi

The brakes are fine. The fault is somewhere on the electrical side. I removed the charging relay and the two lights went out, so the charging relay isn't pulling in to charge the battery, due to the electical fault. When I put the charging relay back in, the Brake light and handbrake light stays on (and battery doesn't charge).

Has anyone else seen this problem?
