the red light on my ghds does not flash when it is supposed to. does this mean they are not reaching temp. are they broke?

We have two sets of GHD Straightners, a 2005 set where the light flashes & a 2006 set which does not flash, interestinly enough, i have checked the operating temperature of both sets with an Oven thermometer & they both run at 155 degrees C. It looks like the set that doesnt flash isnt meant to flash.
