Veritas 8C unset light on/power LED constantly flashing?

Sorry, this is a repeat of the previous post but with a more informative title -

Veritas 8C?

Hi, We've had a veritas 8C alarm set up in our house for the last few years (it has been installed when the previous owners were living here). It's given us no problems as we were given the code and instruction manual.

Today though the alam has just stopped. There's still power, but the unset light is constantly on. The Power led (green light) constantly flashes and entering our code does nothing.

Is there anything I can do to reset the system?

Internal battery requires replacing. You now have no battery backup in the event of a power failure your external bell will activate for approx 20 mins.

Mine started flashing on Sunday, the unset light. If you look at the link www.texe.com/document.php?docid=140 & view page 4 "To set the system with a power fault" go through that procedure & you can set the alarm as normal & unset as normal. The unset light will continue to flash when you switch alarm off.

I have used this system since the fault began & it works great. I am not sure if the actual propblem is to do with a flat battery but the above works every time.

Hope it helps

Hi there,

Not sure if this is the correct answer as Im just going by what I read (funnily enough I just found this post while looking for the instructions for my alarm).

The manual says that the alarm can either turn chime mode on (allows you to test what zones are what) or can prevent the user from setting it when it is due for a maintenence check. This may be your problem, the solution looks to be to get the original installers to come out and service your alarm.

The latest manual can be found here...

www.texe.com/document.php?docid=140

hope that helps.

Regards,

AJB.

Noticed that the cover wasn't fit properly (the box is under the stairs and we've been moving boxes in and out of there so could've knocked it)

Pressed the cover back into place and the unset light has gone off - just the flashing power LED now. No sounds when I enter the alarm code, no ability to set the alarm.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
