how can i fix faulty ignation coil?

some times car starts it can cut out
AA said it could be ignation coil

coil switches between dist and fuel but started before last test

volkswagen sharan p.reg 2.0 litre petrol

If the coil is faulty.... replace it, its not something that is repairable.
