Repair cuisinart dcc-2000?

How do I repair cuisinart coffee maker dcc-2000. It Leaks and on off switch works intermittently
Tricia Monteau, March 2007
I have 2 Broken DCC 2000 models- both willl not heat up the water then brew. My hubby was on the way to dump with them before I pulled them and callled 1-800-726-0190. I couldn't remember when I bought them and had no receipt. She asked for series # of both. She said 1 was still under 3 yr warranty and the other wasn't ( maybe 10 years old) she is shipping the newer DCC 3000 model out to arrive in. 7-10. Days. My cost shipping $10. When it arrives I cut the old cord off broken machine and mail to them. Wish I had called when the 1st one broke instead of shelling out $$$ on the new one. Thanks Cuiisanart.

My Cuisinart leaks coffee and water constantly from where the coffee dispenses in to the cup. How can I repair this?

as an addition to my last post, I also cleaned out the filter... I tried a lot of other methods suggested here and elsewhere, but this trick worked for me...

I just had a problem with my DCC-2000... it would turn on, but no water flowing... I filled the reservoir with boiling water, waited ten minutes, turned to brew and voila! It works!!! let it run thru once without coffee... ran it thru with vinegar and water... then brewed a 12 cup! Happy, Happy, Happy...

Just confirming everyone else's response here. I had the same problem. Called them up, gave them the model and serial number, and now they're sending me a replacement unit. I'll need to mail back the power cord. Great customer service on this.

WOHOO, Cuisinart did the right thing. They are replacing units. Get a service number, cut cord off rear of machine and mail cord. GOOD JOB CUSINART you will keep me as a customer!!!! My machine was completely dead, would not turn on.

Mine quit today. The lights come on, the clock works, the heater comes on but no pump. After reading all the comments about this coffee maker I'm not going through all the BS to get a replacement and having to wait. I'm just going to buy a new one and then take the broken one back and tell them it didn't work out of the box. This is such a great coffee maker when it works. I'm surprised Cuisinart made such a piece of crap!!!!

Having the same problem as others with the power situation. Just got off phone with customer service 1-800-726-0190 which asked for model # along with serial # which is on the bottom of the unit. She checked that it was still under warranty and she stated they'll send another unit out. Had an option of the same model which is on back order or a different model in the same price range. I choose to keep the on demand model and she said it would be 2-4 weeks. No receipts and they were very pleasant, actually I was surprised how easy it was. Good Luck Everyone me included who knows how long 2-4 weeks is to them. Ha.

Same problem, they replaced it after the first year but now the replacement is down. Same electrical problem as the others where the power wont come on after unplugging for an hour. I had to send the receipt the first time so now they wont replace it because I dont have the origional receipt..DUH they never returned it to me. Will not buy another one of these

Hi, We have 3...yes 3 units! We originally purchased the 1 and have gotten 2 replacement units because the units do stop working. The time frames have been different for each unit but they do stop working. We have them all and rotate them as they quit but this is definitely a manufactures issue. They will never own up to the problem unless we all ban together and file a complaint together, for a $99.00 coffee maker, I'm not sure it is worth it.

M & J Ange, June 2010
This model may stop working entirely.
This problem is due to a primary solid state circuit board getting wet during operation. Unplug the machine, empty the water from it and leave it to dry for 2 days.

Rick, June 2010
Mine brews the coffee then shuts off as soon as its done brewing. Had it about 18 months with no problems until now. I will just buy a different model instead of going through the hassel of retuning it for replacment since the replacements seem to have the same issue.

Same problem here, press and no brew, though lights come on. but at some point overnight it did brew for some reason. Once. Now it hasn't worked, and Cuisinart customer service was very happy to tell me my unit was out of warranty due to the manufacture date and I was screwed unless I sent in an original reciept. It was a Christmas gift.

I'll add a 'me too' to this thread. Cuisinart DCC 2000 coffee maker has intermittent electronic failure. Customer service was polite and promised to ship new unit after a 4-week backorder period. I was told to cut off and return the power cord (instead of returning the whole unit). Will post back here if the deal doesn't go down as promised.

I had my firsDCC-2000 replaced in Oct 2008 at maybe 2 yr of age.. That one just quit (March 16 2010). The contact at Cuisinart (Michelle) did some programmed sales talk saying they wouldn't replace it unless I produced a receipt showing the original one was bought within 3 years.
She said this one won't wok any more and I must buy a new one. She asked if she could help me with any other questions and I asked "Who makes a good coffee maker"?

Don't hold your breath on getting a new machine. I was told 6 weeks, it's been 9 and after calling to see what's going on, I was told it's still on backorder and I should wait 4 more weeks and before calling back. Love this unit when it works, but at this point I'm giving up on them following through with a replacement.

I had the same exact problem with my DCC-2000. This is my 3rd unit. The first one quit within the first year, I just bought a new one. The second died within 8 months, and I was expecting guests the next day, so I bought yet another one. Now its broke again. ALL off them did the same thing, no power.

This time I called their 800 # I am not paying for another unit. They told me the same thing, they are back ordered and will send me a new one at no charge. Its been 3 weeks, no new unit yet. I unplug it every night and can usually get one pot of coffee in the morning before it powers off again.

I hope this new unit works better than the previous models. I love the idea of this model, but I need it to function.

azjava, December 2009
Ours just quit working this morning as well....started brewing and then nada! We called and they are sending a new unit.

Greggo from TX, December 2009
we called cuisinart 3 months ago and again today. we were told we have to wait another 8 to 10 weeks. Now our cuisinart grill model grid 8SA heated up and the plate fell off exposing the wires. they played games on the phone with us about this issue also. I will not reccomend Cuisinart or buy another product

Harry, December 2009
our coffee pot stopped working. Called and they will send out a new on in 3-6 weeks. Apparently there is a major problem with some of the units made. They want us to cut off the cord and mail it back to them when the new one comes in. 3-6 weeks without a coffee pot.

HRS, October 2009
I had to call 800-726-0190 and talk to customer service as well.

At first the coffee pot would brew 25% and then turn itself off. Then I cleaned it per the companies request. That didn't do anything. I've tried the whole unplug it bit. That worked if you wanted to get one pot out of it before another malfunction.

The first customer service rep I dealt with just kept hammering me about cleaning it. I asked them to repair it and he said I needed to clean it first. At this point I was ticked off, I've done what they've asked, and it hasn't worked. I called to have it fixed.

I asked to speak to his supervisor. He transferred me.

The supervisor wanted to know how this became a supervisor issue, and so I told him, not being happy at all. I emailed you people, you told me to clean it, I called you people, you told me to clean it, I've cleaned it, and now I want you to honor your warranty and fix this problem.

Well, after that bit, he asked for the model number and serial, and ordered a replacement unit. He said they don't repair them. They'll ship me a new one, but they are on back order.

All he said I have to do is write a service number, which he gave me, onto a piece of paper and place the cut off cord of the unit into an envelope and send it back. They don't fix them. He told me to trash the unit.

All in all, that's the best warranty I've dealt with. I was expecting to have to give my credit card and have a hold placed, and they didn't require this. They waved the shipping fee and did everything without a credit card. They just want the power cord cut off and mailed back as proof.

Cody, October 2009
I had the same problem, they shipped me a new one for the shipping charge of $20. Now the replacement has done the same thing. This model is now on backorder, love the thing WHEN IT WORKS, but not sure I wanna get more of the same.

Johnny42544, September 2009
I have the same problem with the timer/brewing mechanism on a replacement DCC-2000 but the computer chip does not reset when unplugged. The first one lasted a year and this one lasted 9 months. I paid $99.00 for the first one and $10.00 plus $14.95 shipping to return the second one. I called 1-800-726-0190 and they will replace it and waive the $10.00 fee but the units are on backorder so it will take awhile. I'm sure I'll have to pay the $14.95 shipping costs again. It is good tht they replace it but I'm surprised they sent me a second, defective DCC-2000.

Pete, August 2009
I agree with DonR. There is a three year limited warranty on this coffee maker. I called the 800-726-0190 number and they offered to send me a new one to replace the one that doesn't work

TonyU, June 2009
unplug for 1 hour according to cusinart. The computer chip will reset to factory defaults.

franklb, January 2009

Don, May 2008
I have same problem. Called Cuisinart at 800-726-0190 6:10PM on 10/10/08. Zero wait, person asked me model # and Serial #, said they would ship me a new one in 7 - 10 days if I would cover the $10 shipping and ship the old one back. Done Deal!!

Tim, October 2007
My dcc-2000 will not turn on to brew or turn on to heat the coffee. This problem occurred all of a sudden. I plan to call for service. No answer to your question though. I will report more as I troubleshoot this.
