How can I fix the display on a Samsung ER-650 - The Display works but it will not light ?

Hi. the machines don't really use a bulb so to speak. Im pretty sure that the backlight is produced by a special layer that produces light. I actually have a scrap display for this machine ( with a different fault). If you are interested you could send it to me n I could make yours work?
